CNY - Dragon Year

In Chinese calendar, this year is a dragon year.

According to Chinese believes, dragon is yang (in yin and yang) where it symbolizes as power, strength and good luck. You will notice in most Chinese war movies, dragon logos and symbols are printed on the armors, shields and flags. Even in Chinese proverbs, dragon is used as a term to reflect bravery and strong. For example, "Hoping one's son will become a dragon" which mean, the son will become powerful.

And so Malaysia will be celebrating this lunar year next week, we (Malaysian) are given two days off. For those who are not celebrating it, probably take the opportunity to go back to hometown, spending time with families and love ones. So those who are going to have a long journey, drive carefully. May you have a safe journey.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!

I know that I'm a little bit late but hey, we all still in the mood of new year. Yeayy!!

Some of you probably have been away for vacations, hang out with friends or took a time off. Whatever it is, enjoy those days. We do not know when they will be coming back.

On the last day of 2011, I just hanged out with friends. We visited our friend who was just deliver her first baby at Subang Medical Centre. Then on the night of the day, we have a blast bachelorette party!!! It was good! We screamed, ate, laughed, ate, played and ate. Oh, did I mention eat just now? Yup, we eat and laugh out loud a lot. And I don't know why. Guess we have a very good moments on that day. And the theme for the party was "Las Vegas" so you can guess how most of us will be dressed like. Well, I just put on black t-shirt and jeans. That's all. Hahah

Ok, I think I got nothing to say. I just want to wish you guys a happy new year. May this year will bring more happiness, joyful and prosperity. Have a great day!

Do you see a shoutmix box on the right side of the page? Do you see it? Do you? Well, I seldom read what have been written there by those blogwalking people because I seldom open my blog page. Haha. And like usual, they ask for a favor to visit their blog back in return and some, it is just a spam.

For me, it's nice article even though I'm not 100% agree with him. It is subjective. It brings a lot of thoughts and discussion. And most of all, I like this guy's comment:

Dear Zan:

As much as I agree that the imam can sometimes deliver a really boring khutbah, it doesn't mean that is a valid reason for you to fall asleep and to blame it all on the imam. As much as he is at fault for not trying to get your attention, it is equally your responsibility to do your part to actually do your best to pay attention.

I know, because the imam who gave the khutbah Jumaat at the masjid I attended just now was really monotonous and it took a real effort for me not to fall asleep. But the way I see it, that's just Allah's way of testing my ability to listen and pay attention. If you really find it hard to pay attention, then at least do your best to stay awake. Would you like it if your audience were to fall asleep in the middle of your public presentation?

Likewise, for you to criticise the muezzin for not giving a beautiful Azan was totally uncalled for. After all, like you, he was sleepy and groggy. If you didn't like his voice, then you could have just told him to stand aside and let you call out the Azan instead.

For goodness' sake, he was doing you a favour by calling you to perform your religious obligations. And this is how you thank that poor chap - by criticizing his delivery and blaming him for making you cringe at the sound of the Azan for years thereafter?

Don't throw stones when you're standing in a house made of glass.

Just share with you guys

When you have an idea you will start to share with people. You either write it on the paper, compose it, blog it or even telling to your friend. And most ideas are come from what you have learned or influenced by.

So, this is the song that I have composed during my study in university. It was 5 years ago. It became real when I got the chance to produce it even though it was for our audio assignment back then.

Thanks to audio teacher who helped us (me and the group) in making it real. A bit different based from beat and also duration but its okay. I like it anyway. (My version is longer and slower and since it was going to use for audio assignment, its better to make it short)

So here is the song, Wish You Were Here (The Victorious) Oh, by the way, credits to my friend, Wan Emy Masliza, for singing the song. :)

Where's the idea of composing this song come from?

Well...

Have you heard Nitrus band before? Then you must have heard 'Kamu' and 'Resah'.

Unfortunately, I didn't get inspired by both songs. The song that had influenced me was one of the band's classic song which is 'Better Days". It was back before the band started to sing in Malay. I think that was in 2002.

(Standard Malaysia: Indie band yang menyanyi dlm B.Melayu secara tak langsung akan popular dalam masa yg singkat. Menyanyi dlm Bahasa Inggeris 3 tahun 4 tahun pun belum tentu popular. Popular among fans je la..)

So, I link 'Better Days' video here if you guys have not heard the song before. Almost same? Sama tapi tak serupa kan? But of course, their song is far better than mine! Hahahah

Hi there!

There was a convocation ceremony that just held this week. And today is the last session of the convo. I went straight to the office to transfer the video. While waiting for the file to be completely transfer into my comp, I grabbed my guitar and randomly played a few songs.

Then, a few minutes, my mind started to think of something. Hey why don't we (as like talking to the guitar) try to find chords for this song. It sounds quite easy and probably use a few of simple chords.

So there it goes....

I use four chords in this song. Somehow I feel that the song doesn't sound quite good. It means that, there are certain chords that need to be changed. Here are the chords that I used for this song.

For the 1st verse I use these 4 chords: Am, C, G, F

then these chords (which I feel it doesn't sound quite right) : Dm, G, F, G

The next two verse are same with the first and second verse. The chorus is still the same.

Then after a long time trying to figure out which chords are not quite right, I decided to find it in the internet. (Padahal dari awal bole je cari kat internet..haha)

I found this video which I think it is cool.

Well, his version is nicer than mine. And he used capo to play the song. For me, I consider my version is for newbies and still need to fix it up to make it sounds good.

And so I try to put capo on my guitar. I play the same chords as above and follow the video. It did!!! It did sound great! Yeay!!! (tapi key tinggi sikit..aiseh, suara x sedap la kalo nk nyanyi key ni)

Cute Car or Cube Car??

I love cars. There are only a few that attracted me and one of those are Nissan FairladyZ. I just like the design and it's quite rare seeing it on the road. Even you might find it, you only find it in common colors like white and gray. I don't see it in black yet. And plus, I could not afford to buy the car yet if you talk about the insurance, the maintenance the bla bla bla... You got it?

So yeah, I love cars but doesn't mean that I am an expert. Haha. Absolutely not, of course! I love seeing rather than driving those high maintenance vehicles. I don't speed on the road (i think) and I am not the racing type of person. I just like to see and watch those cars.

So while I was surfing some stuffs on the net, I found this from yahoo site. I click on the title and browse it for a little while...

I wonder...does it look really cute?

Well, I got nothing to say. I found my Myvi (which I name it Kuma-kuma) cuter than these two! Haha. I think it depends to the person itself. Some of them find it cute and some of them (including me) feel otherwise.

True mask....

I remember one quote from a book titled Mamasan by our humble local writer Khoo Kheng-Hor talking about a mask. The quote was something like this:

People always have more than one mask. Some probably have a few. The only true mask is only known by the person itself.

Do you guys agree with the statement?

I do. Cause I have more than one. I have two masks which each of them presents different personality.

This thing comes to my mind after I had a dinner with one of my office-mate. We talked about our past life and it turned out that we talked about our another mask. We wear it in different time and who we hang out with.

But the only thing that keeps on playing in my mind is, which one is my true mask? The white mask or the black mask? And how about you? How many masks do you have?

I admit that I've been so busy this few weeks. However, it doesn't mean that I am lack of latest news. Yup, I heard about what had happened in Japan.

The earthquake...

The tsunami...

then latest

The radiation

I was shocked when I heard the news. The faces of friends who are study and work there come to my mind. Are they okay? I manage to contact one of my friend and he's fine. Terrified but fine.

And it makes me wonder... Is the global warming getting worse?

I think 'Mother Earth' could not hold her anger anymore...

Whatever it is, let us pray that people in Japan are safe. I do feel sorry for them and I wish I could do more than just giving a hand.

To people in Japan, always remember that God is always with you. Be patient, be tough and be strong. I believe that Japanese are not easily give up type of person. So please, don't give up.

Hope everything will be okay...

Photoshop addicted

Hi...

These few weeks I've been a bit busy. I apologize for not updating my blog. Only this time I got a chance to sneak in here.

By the way, I have become addicted to Photoshop. I've been trying this one tutorial about editing picture. It was nice. Too bad I can't share it here since I got it from office-mate. But hey, if you want to learn something, I'm sure there are so many ways to find it. Just don't give up and keep on looking. Knowledge does not have boundaries.

So enough said, I'm typing here as fast as I could. I need to go back to work. Check out these pictures that I've edited based from this tutorial. Still not look good enough though but I will work on to that for improvement. Hmm..probably because I skipped some steps due to my laziness. Hehehe

And yeah, once I feel confidence on editing pictures, I will share it here ok? Hehehe.

Coloring in Photoshop

Hi

People are commonly know Adobe Photoshop as a tool or software to edit pictures. Either they use crop, color tone or any effects in that software to make the picture looks great.

I used this software too to edit pictures. In the same time, I used it for coloring my drawings. It is best if you draw outline first before do some coloring. I consider myself not an expert, but I want to share some tips that I usually used when comes to coloring in Photoshop.

Let's start with the ball, shall we?

In outline layer (which is the original drawing), I used Magic Wand tool to select the ball like what you have seen in above picture.

I put orange as main color for the ball by using Paint Bucket.

I like to color in different layers. If you are not satisfied with the color or any effect that you use, you can just delete the layer and make a new one. If you color on the same layer, it will cost you a bit of time to edit and readjust cause it might affected the other color that you have done and also your original drawing. Therefore, to make it safe, always use new layer everytime you do coloring for each place you have selected. As for this case, I usually used 3 layers for each type - the main, the shadow and either the highlight or another shadow according to what kind of effects I want it to look like.

And like picture above, this is how it looks like without any shadows and highlights. Doesn't look that great, does it? So that is why shadows and highlights are important in the drawing. The picture below shown the color of shadows for the drawing.

And here are the tools that I often used when coloring in Photoshop. I love to use Brush for creating shadows and highlights. For me, the most important is the size of the brush and what kind of effects that you want to use in Brush tool.

For clean up, just use Eraser tool to delete any part of the color that you do not want it to appear in the drawing. It is the same like Brush, adjust the size of it and choose any kind of effects that you want to use.

- They both have same concepts from my point of view. Black gothic background and costumes. Fantasies and magical effects

- The vocalist played guitar

I read one of my friend's blog and one of her entry had attracted me to post it here. I know some of you are probably in holiday mood but there are a few things that we need to aware of.

And to tell you the truth, I haven't watched news lately. Not forget to mention reading newspapers too. However, like what I have mentioned earlier. there are a few things we need to aware of.

Firstly, we know that some areas in Johor are now flooded and according to reliable sources, the flood doesn't show any sign of decreasing. Some roads had been blocked and electricity had been cut out. It is a bad news. And I feel worse when one of my close friends told me that she couldn't celebrate Chinese New Year this year because of this disaster. Her hometown is one of the areas that are affected and her parents would not let her to come home due to this flood. I feel sorry for her and wish her all the best. Hope she will be tough and everything is going to be okay.

Second, it is about Malaysian students who study abroad. To be precise, those who study in Mesir / Egypt. I feel sorry for them. I hope actions will be taken to help them. To save them. If you want to know more about it, do check this website below:

I did this drawing for her birthday. My plan was, she with her husband for her birthday gift plus their anniversary but due to time constrained, I managed to draw her only. Therefore, it turned out to be her birthday gift only.

Using only photoshop and flash to draw, I took 2 days to finish it. Flash for drawing the outline and Photoshop for coloring.

I got message from my little brother in fb. There was a website which he found out that one of my artwork was published there. The author of the website (or blog) is Marie Caron and she is from France.

Yup. It's true. I did the drawing for her. If I'm not mistaken, she is one of the writer who I think is quite well known in France. And to tell you the truth, I never had a chance to read any of her books since all of them were written in French. I guess I could ask my brother to buy one of them and translate it for me. Hehe

I'm depressed when I listen to this song. Originally from Michael Learns to Rock and the song then sang by Yao Si Ting. Well, I'm not sure who came first but I heard Yao Si Ting's version before I found out that MLTR sang it too. I knew I heard this melody somewhere before. So I googled and found out that this song got Thailand's verison. Once again, I wonder who sang this song first. Either MLTR, The Men (Thai version) or Yao Si Ting.

I went to KL with a friend last weekends. We decided to watch movie since we got nothing else to do

The story too is suitable for family to watch. It is just not about the humor in the movie, but it has a good lesson value to learn both for parents and children themselves. I guess those who had watched "I Not Stupid Too" will know how the story goes when you watch this movie.

What happen to Dukun?

My thoughts:
Why our local films are so hard to be released here? Is it because most of films are sensitive in terms of sexual harrasment? Religion and beliefs? Politics?

If it is about people's belief, how about international film like Legion, Constantine, Underworld and so on. And yeah, not to forget Da Vinci Code which has brought controversy to the world and called for a boycott of the film especially from Catholics believers.

So tell me, why some of our local films are very hard to released and be screened in Malaysia? Tell me if you have any thought about the reason. And if I miss some info about our local film procedure, please do tell me.

First of all I would like to wish to you guys Happy New Year. Hope it's not too late.

I had watched Muallaf. It was so touched that I want to watch it again. The only sad is the film was rated as 18PL but still have a certain scenes that had been cut (eventhough it was only the audio part).

I wish I could watch the whole movie without a slight cut. I want it pure and the exact movie that supposed to be screened.

The movie had made me want to know Allahyarham closer. More closer. It was so sad that she had left us almost 6 months. However, I feel glad that the movie had been screened in our cinema. Do please watch the movie. It worth more than just RM10 ticket because the movie itself is priceless. Her (Yasmin Ahmad) talent was more priceless. It is the masterpiece that you can't ever forget. This is what I feel.

Muallaf

I met with one of lecturers in my workplace who had a chance to chat with Allahyarham. Those who had met her will definitely miss her. The lecturer himself told me that she was too humble that people couldn't believe that she and her films were well-known around the world. A lot of film awards were the prove.

If you want to know her closer, just read this book; Yasmin Ahmad's Films by Amir Muhammad. I'm currently reading it. You will know more about her. The book had already given me the shiver eventhough I just finished reading the Inroduction part. I just bought the book after watch Muallaf today.

So guys, if you are Yasmin Ahmad's fan, a movie geek, a film lover, do please watch this movie. I'm in Penang and if you do want to watch this movie, I'm willing to accompany you no matter who you are. I don't mind to watch it many times. I just love the movie. Its like seeing Allahyarham when I watch the movie. Let me know if you want to watch Muallaf and its my pleasure to watch it with you.

A historical movie with full of fantasies and adventure. The story started about the cannons which were a gift from Dutch to Queen of Langkasuka but unfortunately, they drowned into the deep sea after the Dutch's ship were being attacked. Allies and nemesis began to plot a war where Queens of Langkasuka faced her rebel Prince Kawai who allied with pirates.

The movie itself reminds me about our own historical film, Puteri Gunung Ledang. I impressed with the cinematography, the visual effects as well as their wardrobes and costumes. It also makes me want to look back history book where Sultan Pahang married to one of Queen Langkasuka's daughter.

The movie had won many awards in 22nd Malaysian Film Festival. The story about a father, who owned a nasi kandar stall in Penang. He worked hard and only realized that he had spent more time in his business than his family when his wife met an accident and passed away.

I love the story line. The movie contains humor, love in family and friendship. I don't know about the others who had watched the movie but I found out that there are a lot of messages that been delivered here. A lot of advices in the middle of the story. Eventually, a good movie to watch with family and friends.

Muallaf

Directed by beloved Allahyarham Yasmin Ahmad. The movie will be released in Malaysia on 24th December this year. I can't hardly wait to watch it. If you are in Malaysia, do please watch this movie. Support our own film and film industry.

Yasmin's Muallaf will be screened

Hi there!~As you can see, Muallaf will be screened in Malaysia. A good news to all Yasmin Ahmad's fans. It will be screened on 24 December this year(well, it's already stated in the poster). Almost one month left! Hehe

I can't hardly wait for it. Oh, by the way, I also drew one portrait of her(Yasmin Ahmad). I miss her to be honest. I feel gloom everytime I watch the advertisements that she made. She will always be remembered.

The latest book I read..

If Miss S stressed when watching The Duchess, I'm stressed when reading this book. Too much pressure and tense that makes me not to stop reading. Plot in the plot. Action to another action. More mystery, more questions. It took me 1 day and a half to finish it. I couldn't sleep very well on the first day but luckily, it was a happy ending. I felt so released when come to the end of the book. Happily ever after at last, my heart said. At least I'm not depressed at the end.

This book belongs to my sister who prefer to read novels rather than comics. Since I have so many time to spend, I randomly took one of her books collection and I guess I was lucky to grab this book.Hahaha

This booked originally by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and it had been translated by Lucia Graves. The No.1 International Bestsellers. Some of you might heard it, have it and have already read it.

The story is about a boy. A boy who started to involve a mystery after he found a book in a secret place where his dad brought him. The mystery turns to an adventure when he started to investigate this mystery author of that book. And not to forget his love life as well. I envy about his love life. At least he got a girl that he loved. It contained humor too which make me smile and sometimes cursed 'bodoh' while reading it.

It's been awhile again...I apologize for being away and have not updated this blog. I'm currently on 'something' that makes me have to stay at home. Hehehe.

I got a friend who requested me to draw one of his picture. I was thinking to draw it in caricature style but due to the circumstances that I'm facing now, I designed it into this way.

I used two softwares. I traced the picture by using Toon Boom Studio (which I planned to do a caricature at first). I found it quite hard by using only one hand (opss..I forgot to inform that my other hand was injured), so I just did the outline only. You can also use Adobe Illustrator to do the tracing or any other software that you're familiar with.

And as for coloring, I used Adobe Photoshop. I only used Brush tool and played with the opacity and the brush's size to paint.

However, I'm still thinking to draw the picture in caricature style. I'll see about that...

Facial Expressions

I remembered that I do a thesis, The Importance of Facial Expressions in Animation for my degree. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I put it. Too bad..sighed.

But here I want to share some infos regarding facial expressions which is one of six basic principles of animation. Therefore, it is very imoprtant to make the animation realistic.

According to Wikipedia, a facial expression results from one or more motions or positions of the muscles of the face. These movements convey the emotional state of the individual to observers. Facial expressions are a form of nonverbal communication.

Those bold texts are the reason why the facial expressions are important for animation. An animator should know how to present the expressions of their character animation. They must know how to show the mood whether the character is sad, happy, angry, disgust, fear and so on.

For those who were born during 70's and 80's, do you remember cartoons during our childhood like Pink Panther, Mickey Mouse or Felix the Cat? If you can remember, you will notice that there are a lot of expressions, exaggerations and emotions inside the characters. There is a lot of animation than sounds or audio. Some of cartoons don't have voice over like what we saw in Pink Panther. Eventhough they used less sound or audio during that era, the audiences still got the message from the expressions and moods which were shown from the characters themselves.

If there is no expressions, the animation will not come alive.

Below are some of facial expressions of afams-chan. You can see the eyebrows, the eyes and mouth are always keep on changing according to the expressions. Therefore, they are the most important elements to create facial expressions.

Sometimes, you need to do squash or stretch on the face to make the expression more realistic. Colors are also needed to give the impact towards the expression. For below, I only stretch the face a little bit and put some red color on the forehead to show that afams-chan is in anger.

If you want to learn more about facial expressions to implement in animation, watch a lot of cartoons or anime especially from Japan. They love to put a lot of exaggerations in the character. And most of the exaggerations give a big impact to the cartoon itself.

And practice yourself by drawing a human face if your character is more to real human look. I can give you some tips which I myself practice. Take old newspapers and look for sports segment. I'm sure there are a lot of pictures especially about football. Then try to trace back according from the pictures. You can also learn how to draw a human posture and anatomy in the same time. Or you can look from any materials (such as books, magazines,comics) that have a lot of human actions in the pictures.

I remembered during I was a small kid, I took the sport segment and drew back on the top of the pictures. Mom scolded later because I ruined the newspapers before other people had a chance to read it. Hehe.

I know it's a bit late but it's better to say rather than nothing. Let us not forget about what our previous people and ancestors had done to achieve the independence that we get today. We must appreciate the efforts and hardness that they had faced. We learn from them so that we can make our country better.

Be proud to be Malaysian. Be proud that we are born as Malaysian. Be proud to live in Malaysia. We are Malaysian.

I hope that all Malaysians will live in peace and harmony. We live under one roof and we live as one big family. A unity must be on top. Bring out the name of Malaysia where ever you are.

I'm currently reading one of Yu Dan's bestseller book called Confucius from the Heart. Ancient Wisdom for Today's World. I just finished Chapter One, therefore I will not give a summary about the book yet. But there are certain important points that make me wonder when I read it. The first sentence is like this:

We are working hard to create a harmonious society, but what is true harmony?

And the next paragraphs which written that one of Confucius's student ask him what conditions were necessary for a country to be at peace, with a stable government. Confucius's answers make me even more wonder. He said:

First, the internal apparatus of the state must be powerful, it must have enough military power to protect itself.

Second, it must have sufficient supplies, so its people can be well fed and clothed.

Third, the common people must have belief in the nation.

I ask myself. Do we have belief in our own nation?

Once again, Happy Independence day to all Malaysian. And happy 52nd Birthday Malaysia...

Sensei, I'm gonna miss you!

It's been a busy day with shooting and while I was in Penang on Thursday, one of my officemate messaged me in ym,told me she had passed away...I was shocked. So i quickly asked a friend who used to keep in touch with her..

The actual story that happend on Thursday was that she was in a coma.

A bit released but still worried. I kept on making myself busy with the shooting to ignore this uneasiness feeling. She's going to be okay,Insya-Allah...

But then, on Saturday..she passed away..and this time, it was true..

I barely dont know her much but I never miss in whatever she's doing. I love to keep track with her latest activity, both on film and her life as well. I love to read her blog which very inspiring,informative and never bored.

I admire her for her talent. I learnt a lot of things from her eventhough I never met her before. I love to call her sensei (which I used to call her in her blog) as she was my teacher that just not inspiring people to have a passion in making films, but the unity, love and tenderness that everyone must have in their heart. And I'm proud that I'm one of her zillion fans.

But she's gone..she had left us...she was just left us while she was in the middle of making another block-buster film. It's really hard to believe..

It was so sad. And i cried.....

Her latest blog entry was on Wednesday, 22nd July 2009. How could I ever believed it? It's hard for me that time to get to know her latest situation cause I've been busy and most of the days I was away from TV and internet. But it was really true that she had left us on Saturday, 25 July 2009.

Her entry was still there..The Storyteller, Part 2.

And again, I cried...Tears just cant stop pouring down and I could not make it stop.

She had inspired a lot of people. She had moved a lot of people. She had made people to open up their mind to think beyond their imagination. And I love it.

There was once I had a dream about her. I was in an event with a lot of people. A crowd of people were gathering at the one side and I walked towards the crowd. I could not see it clearly but I saw one lady,wearing a white beautiful baju kurung and selendang.

And that lady was Yasmin Ahmad. I was so excited when I see her. There were so many people gathered around her and I could not get near to her as people pushing and blocking my way. I gave up and started to walk away cause that time I feel that I was nobody. I felt so tiny as the people there were pushing me away everytime I tried to get closer.

As I was about to turn around, suddenly someone called me. I turned, and it was her, standing in front of me. She hold my hands and I took this advantage to salam with her and kissed her hand. And then, I woke up.

Eventhough it was only a dream,but it was a great memory to be remembered. I never shared it with anyone cause i had a hope that one day I will meet her. And it will be great if one day, I will meet her in personal and on that time, I will tell her about the dream that I had.

But that moment will not going to happend. God loves her more. She left us as God had called her.

The future that could not be sustained financially..i got this from email.

Mr Kitahara is a famous Japanese TV satire movie star cum director.. He hasrecently won another international film award. A few years ago his motherpassed away. He went home to attend her funeral. He never quite liked his mother, because she kept asking him for money. Should he missed a payment,his mother would call him up and scolded him. On top of that, the more famous he became the more money his mother demanded from him.

When he arrived at the funeral, he still cried very miserably. He felt thathe did not fulfill his duties as a son to take care of his mother duringher living years. At the end of the service, as he was about to leave, hisbrother handed him a small parcel saying,

"Mother asked me to pass this toyou."

Carefully he opened the parcel. He found within, a savings passbook and aletter. The savings account was under his name with a balance of tens ofmillion Yen. In the letter his mother wrote,

'Dear son, among all mychildren, you are the one whom got me most worried. You were never an academic, a true spendthrift and over generous to your friends. When I knew that you were going to work in Tokyo, I was worried that one day you would become a bankrupt. That is why I insist on you sending me money everymonth. This is to give you a drive to earn more money, at the same time help you to save. Here is all your money, I did not have to spend a cent, for your brother has taken care of me very well. Now take the money andspend wisely."

After reading the letter he broke down with tears and sorrow...

The richest man in TaiWan, late Mr.Wang Yoong Ching once said:

The dollar that you earned does not belong to you. The dollar you saved is genuinely yours.With the worldwide economy down turn, growth rate and interest rates are decreasing while inflation is on the hike. Do not underestimate the little expanses that we have, like a cup of coffee, a packet of cigarettes or a nice new shirt. If we can save it, it might change our life.

It was raining this morning and i woke up late. Fortunately, I managed to arrive at work on time eventhough there's a bit traffic jam. Surprisingly the jam continued in the uni. I know that some of motorists use uni route as a short cut (since that the uni's route are connected to several 'taman'). So i think, they probably late too and the only choice they have is by getting into uni for a short cut to reach their destination.

And on the way i listend to radio staion.

And all stations that i tuned, played MJ's songs. I wondered...

What happend? Why?

The dj announced that Michael Jackson or known as MJ passed away. He was 50. King of pop dies at 50 because of cardiac arrest.

It was a shocking news and it's hard to believe. It was so sudden...I cant hardly wait to arrived to office so that I can search about it in the internet.

And yes..it is true...

I'm not a big fan of him but I can feel the loss of him. He's a big star, a legend and a man that called for unity. He is somebody to people and was touched by his legacy.

So

Toy Museum

If you are a toy collector especially action figures, there's one place that you must visit. It is Toy Museum where a lot of toys are displayed.

Located in Tanjung Bungah, near to Copthrone Orchid Hotel Penang. It has been in Malaysia's Book of record as the first and biggest toy museum in Malaysia. The owner, Mr. Loh started to have a passion to open this museum after he went to visit Toy Museum at London.

Tadi pagi ada ceramah utk kaum hawa khususnya para ibu n isteri. Tajuk ceramah tu Amalan Penjagaan Petua dan Pantang Larang Sesama dan Selepas Kehamilan n disampaikan oleh Ibu Halimah Shuib (Pengasas Jamu Mak Dara). So ni tips sedikit sebyk yg boleh dikongsi bersama:

Bila bangun pagi
-jangan mengeliat terus. Sebolehnya apabila bangun dari tidur, raut/gosok wajah ke atas. Kepada orang muslim, seeloknya berselawat sambil mengurut wajah tu.
-lakukan senaman ringkas seperti gerakkan kepala, tangan dan kaki.

Tips untuk mereka yang kencing manis. Amalan minum pada waktu pagi
-1 ketul kunyit
-1 ketul halia
-5 biji bawang merah
-3 ulas bawang putih
-1ketul gula batu
-1 biji lobak putih
blend semua hingga halus (if tumbuk lagi bagus) then minum around 7am

Kisah Anjing dan Lembu

I got this from one of the forums that i viewed. Very interesting to share. Sesuai utk semua lapisan masyarakat terutama sekali manusia yang selalu pandang hina kat anjing. Selamat membaca.

LEMBU: Hai anjing, apa habaq? Macam ada yg tak kena je?

ANJING: Aku tengah tension nih. Mau je aku gigit manusia tadi.

LEMBU : eh? kenapa?

ANJING: aku lalu tepi dua orang mansuia lelaki dan perempuan yg sedang berkepit. Tetiba si lelaki terperanjat dan terus melompat dan berkata "hoi anjing, pergi jauh-jauh, najis!".

LEMBU: Ya, lah. Ko kan haram. Najis tahap berat bagi manusia. Biasalah tu.

ANJING: Kalau aku najis sekali pon, kalau dia tersentuh aku, boleh disamak. Yang dia sentuh dan raba-raba awek dia tu apa? Boleh ke nak samak dosa?

LEMBU: Betul tu. Memegang wanita yg bukan mahramnya tanpa ikatan yg sah, lebih dahsyat kenajisannya daripada memegang ko anjing, malah tak boleh suci sekalipun di samak.

ANJING: Wah.. ayat ko memang power la... manusia kena ubah pepatah "Pandai macam LEMBU

Sedikit Penjelasan: Daripada satu hadis yang diriwayatkan daripada ibnu majah menyatakan bahawa

"Bergomolan dengan babi (khinzir) itu adalah lebih baik berbanding dengan bersentuhan (secara sengaja) dengan wanita yang bukan mahram".

Bersentuhan (dengan sengaja & apatah lagi bertujuan syahwat) adalah berdosa dan wajib bertaubat (bagi membersihkan dosa). Sedangkan menyentuh anjing tidaklah berdosa dan hanya perlu disuci (bukan bertaubat). Menyentuh anjing bukanlah satu kesalahan (dosa) atau maksiat. Tetapi, menyentuh wanita bukan mahram adalah berdosa dan merupakan maksiat.

Walk-Animate

Here's basic of how to animate walk-cylcle. This is just the most simple and not detailed to do walk-cylce animation. But first, we need to do simple and sketchy outline (as long as u can understand what you have drawn) before we move to detailing the character. By the way, I used Toon Boom Studio 4 software to do this walk-cycle.

1. First, draw the outline characters (look alike in the picture) on the first frame by using pencil.

2. Then draw another outline character (which is standing still) on the third frame. There is a green line which is for guide to animate the moving hand when drawing the walk-cycle. (in common sense,most people will swing their hand when they walk)

3. Go to second frame. Before starting to draw another outline character, click on the Onion skin button. Then, choose Previous Drawing and Next Drawing(which is next to Onion skin button). There are red lines(which is Previous Drawing) and the green lines(for Next Drawing).

4. Still in the second frame, draw the third outline characters like below. The drawing (action) must be between previous drawing(previous action) and next drawing (next action).

5. On the fifth frame, draw an outline which is same like in the first frame(u can copy the drawing from the first frame but make sure the position of the hand and leg are different).

6. Lastly, on the fourth frame, draw the action of the outline character based from Previous Drawing and Next Drawing. Just almost the same like drawing on the second frame.
7. Then play it to see the walk-cycle animation. you will see the animation would be like this (click on the picture to see the movement).

This is just simple and very basic of walk-cycle animation. From these outline animation, you can now use it for your own characters. You can also draw more frames to make the walk-cycle smoother. Enjoy!!~

Notice the shadow? I used drop shadow elements from the software and it automatically generates it. Less work for animators to create animation for shadow by themselves.

Toon Boom Studio 4.0

I was introduced about Toon Boom Studio software when i was working in one of software development for children company. I never heard the software before and it was the first time I used the software when i worked in that company.

We were using version 2 and there are some features different from common graphics/multimedia softwares. However, it was not that difficult to use it as it was simple and easy to draw.I think those who used to do animation in Flash find it interesting and would like this software.

I'm using Toon Boom Studio 4-All in one animation software. If compare between version 2 and version 4, there are too much differences! The latest version has been equipped with upgraded features-more friendly and easier. Now the user can export to still images (snapshots-jpeg,psd, tiff,tga n so on), pdf format and the most interesting part is, it is also add more effect elements such as color transform, clipping and drop shadow. These elements help to make animation more realistic, smooth and less work for animators to draw more and more.And from my opinion, this software (if you compare with Macromedia Flash), Toon Boom id good for tv animation. Flash is excellent for web but not suitable for heavy graphic and tv production. So for those who wants to do animation in terms of tv/film production, i recommend to use this software.
